Megan has been covering Australian aged care for almost 40 years, beginning with a feature on nursing homes for the Australian Financial Review in 1972. She has a keen understanding of political and policy trends, having worked in Canberra and Victoria as a media and policy advisor in government and opposition.
Megan co-wrote In Their Shoes - a guide for all staff working in residential aged care, which has sold over 30,000 copies. It was followed by In Their Homes which was written to help those who provide personal or nursing care to people in their own homes.
While attending conferences around Australia and in researching, workshopping and writing the two handbooks, Megan has been in close contact with hundreds of aged and community care workers from large and small services, city and rural, with a wide mix of residents and clients.
Megan started writing for Aged Care INsite in 2003 and her experience and wide-ranging industry and government contacts have enabled her to continue writing informative reports on the changing and growing Australian aged care area and the great people who work in it.
