RCNA endorsed activities – a competitive advantage

As an education provider, you know that choosing which learning tool to use, which course to undertake or which event to attend can be daunting and time-consuming for nurses and health professionals, given the range available to them.

As an education provider, you know that choosing which learning tool to use, which course to undertake or which event to attend can be daunting and time-consuming for nurses and health professionals, given the range available to them. In this competitive market, what better reassurance for nurses can there be than choosing an activity which is endorsed by RCNA.

RCNA is the peak professional nursing organisation and a voice for nurses across Australia. RCNA is influential in nursing and health matters; its advice, free from political allegiance, is sought after at all levels in the nursing and health community. A major focus for RCNA is the ongoing professional development of nurses.

RCNA endorsed activities benefit individual nurses and the nursing profession. It also benefits organisations and education service providers, as it acknowledges the quality of your service, course, educational project or tool. RCNA endorsement recognises your commitment to excellence in nursing and your contribution to professional development.

RCNA advertises and recommends endorsed activities to members and to the nursing and health community. This gives you a strategic and competitive advantage. RCNA endorsed activities are clearly identified on the RCNA calendar of events webpage, with the allocated RCNA CNE points displayed. This helps promote your organisation and increase registrations.

If your organisation has RCNA APEC status, you will also have access to the APEC member-only webpage, which provides regular e-bulletins, supporting document templates, a photo gallery and opportunities for networking with other organisations with RCNA APEC status through an online forum.

To apply for APEC status you will need to ensure your organisation meets the criteria by visiting the website: www.rcna.org.au/development/apec. The next step is to apply for RCNA APEC status by completing a registration form and attending a one-day workshop where a representative from your organisation will learn about the endorsement standards of RCNA and how to self-allocate RCNA CNE points to your education activities. You may choose to send more than one representative to a workshop.
