A new Master of Nursing also commences this year, offering two new clinical streams of study in either acute care or palliative care. Postgraduate programs are also offered with the Master of Midwifery and Graduate Diploma in Paramedicine continuing to attract highly qualified registered nurses.
In February, the School of Nursing will celebrate its 25th anniversary of the introduction of nursing at the University of Ballarat. A special event has been organised for the evening of 5 February 2011 and it is expected to be a gala occasion with all past staff and students invited to attend.

The nursing faculty staff at the University of Ballarat appreciates the recognition and privileges associated with being a member of RCNA. Staff believe RCNA offers them an opportunity to belong to a professional organisation that keeps them connected and grounded in events that influence nursing. RCNA also represents the voice of all nurses including clinicians, researchers, educators, academics and policy makers and influencers. This is particularly important for nurses and academics working in rural and regional Australia.
