Website is fourth in series of web-based education programs.
Anatomy, physiology, disease and disease management, and medical procedures are amongst the 33 courses available through a new range of online CPD programs called Body Systems Training Room.
ANMF today launched the fourth website in a series of education platforms aimed at providing Australian nurses and midwives access to affordable, up-to-date, in-depth learning programs.
ANMF federal education officer Jodie Davis says online education is the way of the future for meeting annual CPD registration requirements for nurses and midwives. She points to the large cost of face-to-face CPD training, including attendance, travel and accommodation costs, as well as the time spent away from work and family.
“The standard states they must participate in self-directed learning activities to maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge, expertise and competence and develop the personal and professional qualities required throughout their professional lives,” she says. “The online education programs provide nurses and midwives with easy access to learning activities in numerous [formats] to [help them] meet their learning needs.
“Courses provide an easy understanding of complex body systems, medical and healthcare concepts and scenarios, and courses include audio narrations and interactive quizzes shared through a story-board format.”
The ANMF partnered with Ebix, an international supplier of software and services to the insurance and healthcare industries.
