Nearly three weeks ago, Melbourne was placed back into stage 3 lock down measures and as the COVID-19 crisis in the state worsens, Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that masks, or face coverings, will now be mandatory in all public places.
There is, however, still some discussion as to the efficacy of masks as a measure to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
One mask advocate is professor Nick Talley, editor of the Medical Journal of Australia, and he joins host Conor Burke to discuss the merits of mask use and whether they should be made mandatory nationwide.
