Study relief for flood victims

College of Nursing says disaster-affected students can defer without penalty.

Students of The College of Nursing who are affected by floods in Queensland and Victoria and natural disasters in other states have the option of deferring their studies for one semester.

Eligible students can defer without penalty, providing they contact the College before 28 February.
Students who wish to defer should contact the manager, Student Services Centre at the College, email [email protected]

“The College understands that many of its students, along with other health professionals, are likely to be engaged in disaster management in various parts of Australia,” Tracey Osmond, chief executive, said.

“Our thoughts are with all people affected by the disasters facing our communities. We particularly extend our support to nurses and other health professionals affected by disaster, not only as they deal with the effects on communities but as people who are themselves affected.

“At the end of the day, nurses are like all other people who have families, homes, pets and debts.”
