Whiddon implements rapid COVID-19 testing in south-west Sydney home

Aged care provider Whiddon will implement rapid COVID-19 testing at their largest aged care campus, Whiddon Easton Park in Glenfield, NSW.

They'll use Rapid antigen tests: on-the-spot screening tests that detect antigens, or proteins, found on the surface of the virus, and deliver a positive or negative result in just ten minutes.

Whiddon CEO Chris Mamarelis joins Aged Care Insite to talk about the tests as well as the vaccine rollout and what the September 17 deadline for mandatory vaccines will mean for his staff.

  1. I am SO glad that my Mum is living at Easton Park!
Of course, I would have liked to take care of her myself, but that was impossible really.
That it is in Glenfield right in the centre of many of SW Sydney Covid hotspots is a big concern.
However, to learn how pro-active Whiddon is being in order to do all they can to protect their staff and residents is very comforting.
I like Chris Mamarelis the CEO of Whiddon – his honesty and transparency are very reassuring. He tells it like it is – and he clearly cares for staff and residents alike. The rapid testing on-site is a fabulous initiative.
Good luck. God bless you all. And Thank you, very much.
