Lawyers offer free Wills for Gold Coast aged care workers

A Queensland law firm is offering aged care worker's the opportunity to have their Wills drafted free of charge.

Throughout March, Attwood Marshall Lawyers is giving workers across the Gold Coast and Tweed area, where the practice is based, appointments to make free Wills.

Legal practice director Jeff Garrett said the offer was a way to give back to aged care workers providing essential care to older Australians.

"We believe that everyone deserves access to quality legal services, especially those who have dedicated their lives to caring for others," Mr Garrett said.

“The aged care sector is a highly demanding industry to work in, particularly when long hours and staffing shortages are all too common.

"By offering complimentary simple Wills throughout March, we want to ease the burden on these remarkable individuals, ensure that their wishes are preserved, and show our gratitude for everything they do.”

The offer of a simple Will, usually around $440, includes a 30-minute estate planning review for advice on any strategies individuals may want to consider, and the drafting of a simple Will to be prepared by an experienced estate planning lawyer.

A team of 14 lawyers and paralegals are a part of the team, with two accredited aged care professionals to help assist clients.
