This July, an Australian will be travelling to Puerto Rico to be inducted into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.
Professor Wendy Chaboyer from the Centre for Health Practice Innovation, a part of Griffith University's Menzies Health Institute Queensland, will be recognised for her research by nursing honour society Sigma Theta Tau International. The honour is for research that has gained broad national or international recognition and has had an impact on the profession and the people it serves.
Chaboyer is also director of thhe NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Nursing Interventions for Hospitalised Patients. Health editor Dallas Bastian spoke with her about the recognition, her future projects and the key message she has discovered about what patients want from care. She also discussed a popular opinion about nursing education that she believes is false.
