Call to join fight
Cancer remains one of Australia’s biggest health problems.
Health professionals are being encouraged by Cancer Council to join the fight against cancer by stocking up on yellow boxes this August.
Friday, 27 August is Daffodil Day, and the yellow merchandise boxes (full of pens, pins and key rings) are an essential part of the annual fundraising event that gives hope for a brighter, cancer-free future.
With one in two Australians diagnosed with cancer by age 85, Daffodil Day is for everyone, including those working in the health sector.
Every box ordered and placed in the reception area for patients, staff or customers to purchase represents more than $270 that can go towards the cause, said the Cancer Council.
