Tech-based intervention allows patients to track their own nutrition

Hospital patients have tested out a technology-based program that allows them to self-assess and self-monitor their nutrition at the bedside.

Dr Shelley Roberts, from Griffith University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, and her colleagues trialed the usability and patient perceptions of an electronic foodservice system (EFS).

The research team explored patients’ willingness to engage with the EFS, as well as perceived ease of use, benefits and importance.

Nursing Review sat down with Roberts to discuss the feedback patients provided and whether the program would be used by the people who would most benefit from it.
